AME Grad's Startup Selected for Tech Accelerator
Revolute Robotics, a tech company co-founded by AME doctoral graduate Sahand Sabet, is one of 10 startups selected by Stanley Black & Decker to participate in this year's STANLEY+Techstars Accelerator. This year's class focuses on "technologies that enable the electrification of consumer and industrial products through the implementation of battery technology, advanced and recyclable materials, microprocessors, robots, consumer appliances and services."
Revolute Robotics focuses on developing robots that can both roll and fly and operate for extended periods of time, and which have applications in public safety, agriculture and more.
"We are excited for the 2022 cohort and their potential to bring continued innovation to the electrification industry," said Mark Maybury, chief technology officer at Stanley Black & Decker. "At Stanley Black & Decker, we believe electrification will open new doors for future-forward design and function for many of our consumer and industrial products. This year's class represent a diverse group of global startups positioned to make a meaningful impact. We are eager to energize these startups in the city of Baltimore, a top-tier innovation hub, to revolutionize electrification."
Sabet was previously awarded the Student Innovator of the Year award at the 2021 I-Squared Awards and Expo, at which Tech Launch Arizona honored the university's top inventors and entrepreneurs.
