National Academy of Engineering elects Suresh Garimella as a 2025 fellow
The AME University Distinguished Professor is recognized for scholarship and service.

Suresh Garimella is the University of Arizona's 23rd president, having joined in October 2024 from the University of Vermont, where he was president.

University of Arizona president and AME University Distinguished Professor Suresh Garimella has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest professional distinctions awarded to engineers.
Garimella was recognized by the academy for "contributions to microscale heat and mass transport, academic leadership, and service to the nation."
Garimella is a highly cited researcher and has served on several national engineering committees and boards. Additional honors include a fellowship with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
"I'm proud to see President Garimella honored for his impact as an engineer and a leader," said David W. Hahn, the Craig M. Berge Dean of the College of Engineering. "The president's accomplishments demonstrate ingenuity, service orientation and dedication to improving the human condition."
