
Memorial Lecture Series
Each year, the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona honors the legacy of professors through a series of memorial lectures.
Internationally recognized leaders in the field are invited to campus to share their vision and celebrate the momentous achievements of the department, while inspiring the next generation of engineers.
These lectures are made possible by generous contributions from families of the professors, alumni and industry partners. They are free and open to the public.

Chen Memorial Lecture
Established in 2022, the Chuan F. Chen Memorial Lecture Series honors former AME department head, an internationally recognized scientist in fluid dynamics and a renowned researcher who helped shape the golden age of aeronautics.

Kececioglu Memorial Lecture
The Dimitri B. Kececioglu Memorial Lecture was established in 2015 to recognize the lifetime achievements of the late professor in the field of reliability engineering.
