Mizdail Mentors College's Women
AME alumna Barbara Mizdail met with 13 members of the UA Women in Engineering program on April 29 to discuss making a mark in male-dominated fields and navigating transitions between school and work.
Mizdail, who received the 2014 SAE International Excellence in Engineering Education Award, graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1972. She was the first female president of the UA Engineering Council and a member of the first class of the first engineering sorority, Beta Rho Delta.
A pioneer throughout her career, she was the first women in the Chrysler Institute Program, one of the first women in Product Planning at Ford Motor Company, the first woman to receive the SAE Distinguished Younger Member Award and the first female engineering professor at Penn State Berks.
