KGUN-9 Tucson featured University of Arizona Engineering students on a video segment about the Wildcat Formula Racing club.

On June 30, reporter Dan Spindle spoke with Cooper Graf, an AME junior, and Aidan Brown, an electrical and computer engineering major.

"I'd say I'm a car guy," Graf told KGUN-9. "But also I like racing a lot and it's cool to blend your degree with something you're really interested in."

In May, the team made its way to Michigan for the 2025 Formula SAE Competition, where they competed with their open-wheel, single-seat vehicle.

"We had to make some last-minute modifications on the car in a hotel parking lot, but that's kind of what the club is about. That is engineering, it's problem solving," Cooper said.

The full video segment showed the WF25 – the club's racing vehicle – in action, passing the technical inspection at the competition.

"It was really special," Cooper said. "I was super happy all of competition with how everyone's part performed, let alone just mine."
