Aerospace engineering junior and University of Arizona Wildcats right-handed pitcher Tony Pluta was named in the Arizona Daily Star's list of 10 U of A players to watch during this year’s College World Series.

The baseball player set a single-season record of 14 saves and was named a First Team All-American and Stopper of the Year by the NCBWA. The Daily Star article also highlighted his commitment to academics, which weighed as heavily in his decision to attend U of A as baseball did.

“Arizona is a top research university with great connections to the professional world,” said Pluta.

The Wildcats ended their season on June 15 with a loss to Louisville. This marked the 19th trip U of A has made to the CWS.
