Outstanding AME seniors and teaching assistants impress at luncheon
Engineering faculty ended the semester on a high note, nominating 11 undergraduate seniors, six graduate seniors and six teaching assistants for awards that recognized their efforts to go above and beyond in their studies and research. The nominations were followed by a luncheon hosted at the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center.
For the awards for outstanding senior, Samantha Stevens won for aerospace engineering and Savannah Shah won for mechanical engineering. Michelle Bailey won the outstanding graduate student award for aerospace engineering.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Michelle. She's so cooperative, smart and a good writer. She spent about six months at NASA’s Langley Research Center with the National Institute of Aerospace," said Edward Kerschen, professor emeritus of AME.
Adam Nekolny took home the award for outstanding teaching assistant for aerospace engineering.
