Ceniceros Awarded SMART Scholarship
Master's student Angelica Ceniceros is the recipient of a 2016 Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation Scholarship for Service from the U.S. Department of Defense. She will use it to pursue a PhD in aerospace engineering at AME.
The extremely competitive scholarship is given to less than 12 percent of total applicants, and aims to increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working in DoD laboratories. Awardees receive a full scholarship, a stipend, summer internships at sponsoring facilities throughout the course of their doctoral studies, and guaranteed employment with their sponsoring facility after they complete their degrees.
Ceniceros will work with the Air Force Research Laboratory research and development site in Maui, Hawaii, after graduation.
