Undergraduate Degrees
Focus on Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
AME offers Bachelor of Science degrees in aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering. Curriculum for both provides a broad, well-balanced foundation in engineering.
BS in Aerospace Engineering
Students in UA aerospace engineering learn about how to use satellites and spacecraft to explore new frontiers and make flight and space travel safer and more sustainable. The curriculum covers aircraft and spacecraft design, performance, propulsion and materials selection, and space flight and exploration. Study includes the following subject areas:
- Aerodynamics
- Control system design
- Fluid mechanics
- Gas dynamics
- Solid mechanics
- Thermodynamics
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Students in UA mechanical engineering typically are looking to design, analyze, manufacture and maintain mechanical systems in a variety of industries. Study includes the following subject areas:
- Dynamics and controls
- Mechanical design
- Nanotechnology
- Solid and fluid mechanics
- Thermal sciences
International Degrees
UA AME is proud to offer a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at UA Jakarta, a dual degree program with Sampoerna University, Indonesia's premier international university.
Curriculum
The aerospace engineering program includes specialized courses in space systems, propulsion and aircraft design. Mechanical engineering centers on physics, mathematics and materials. Both degree programs include a focus on instrumentation and materials strength, with hands-on laboratory courses and research opportunities.
Four-Year Degree Plans
The College of Engineering’s four-year degree plans provide the advised sequence of courses for a BS in either aerospace or mechanical engineering.
